Challenge: To support Demica's growth through continuous discovery and design of the universal features of a supply chain finance platform, basing on a thorough analysis of the requirements of global banks and financial institutions.
Approach: In the initial solution design phase, we identified methods for translating Demica's vision into a user-centric and relevant platform. Together, we've implemented a structured analysis and design process to ensure the timely and on-budget delivery of new functionalities.
Result: Together, we have been developing robust features of the platform, which now administrates assets worth over 27bn of dollars. The versatile fintech tool processes high volumes of data, with the largest transaction containing over 3 million open invoices daily.

Founded over 20 years ago, award-winning Demica is a market-leading fintech, providing intuitive, cloud-based platform that enables financial institutions and corporates to automate and scale their working capital solutions.
Today, their platform infrastructure connects 250 banks and non-bank financial institutions to hundreds of large corporate businesses around the world.
Business challenge
Demica’s mission is to transform the financial market landscape by liberating banks and companies from legacy technologies, spreadsheet operations, and manual processes through one universal working capital platform.

Scope of work
Initially, Demica reached out to us to transform their general vision into a market-ready digital platform. As our collaboration evolved, we’ve been continuously contributing to Demica’s growth, by supporting design and development of new platform functionalities.
Together we’ve been developing a leading fintech tool, answering the needs of major global banks and financial corporations.
A-Z Solution Design
To establish a firm foundation for a long-term partnership, we decided to kick-off our collaboration with a solution design phase.
Together, during discovery workshops, we analysed requirements of Demica’s customers from business, UX, and technical perspectives in order to pinpoint their most pressing needs, and to address them with one universal digital solution.
By establishing proto-personas, we gained focus on potential users’ demands and aligned our common understanding of the user groups’ characteristics, key motivations, and preferences.
With strong customer-centric approach, we also defined basic UX guidelines (including information architecture, user flow, and basic layout rules), and precisely tuned the platform’s usability with end-users’ expectations.
The UX rules we established in the initial phase has become a solid foundation for further work on the platform’s usability and the user interface.
With story mapping, visually presenting the project’s scope, and decomposing user activities, we secured that all innovative features facilitating complex financial operations were considered already at an early development stage.
To ensure that all the requested functionalities were incorporated into the platform’s interface, we also provided high-fidelity wireframes – a visual guide representing a structural level of the web application, showcasing the most crucial aspects of the solution, like dashboards or the transaction setup process.
In a comprehensive report, we provided a detailed project specification and scope, and an outline of a product backlog already broken down into deliverable epics and prioritised user stories, making it ready for seamless implementation by our joint software delivery teams.
To make the most of the visual deliverables of the solution design phase, we additionally supported Demica’s marketing and presale activities by designing a large-format poster which showcased the most appealing product’s features to Demica’s office guests.
Continuous Discovery
To constantly support the organisation’s ongoing innovation and product development, we have implemented a three-step continuous discovery process, strengthening collaboration between product discovery, design, and delivery teams.
The continuous discovery process is initiated by Demica’s discovery team which gathers their clients’ requirements for new platform features.
Together with our joint product design team, they estimate the time and resources necessary to turn users’ expectations into requested functionalities, and to present them with reliable cost and timeline projections early in the presale phase.
As we move forward, the experts in business analysis, tech solutions, and UX design translate the business needs of Demica’s partners into specific tech and UX solution proposals, ensuring that they are aligned with customer expectations, the platform’s framework, and Demica’s business idea.
The project’s scope is then divided into epics and user stories. A clear and prioritised backlog of activities establishes a solid foundation for the final phase – seamless development and delivery of new features.
